The Man From The Fifth Ward
Praise the Lord everyone!
It was very busy this evening. I took an middle aged black man from the Fifth Ward neighborhood here in Houston, out to smoke. He and I had a nice visit in the smoke hut. He smoked 3 cigarettes in about an hour. He has AIDS and Cancer, but he is hanging on.
He contracted aids from a lady in his neighborhood which he had an sexual encounter. He was very angry that he got this disease from her. His family knows he's sick, but he did not tell them he was at the hospice. Maybe there was some bad blood there. He was a nice guy but despondent about his fate.
In today's world we have to be very careful about disease, the Bible say's that we reap what we sow. I don't say this in a bad way, and I most certainly did not tell him that, but as a statement of truth that I kept to myself.
