I'm Not Going Over That Bridge Again!

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

I was at the first floor nurses station sitting with some of our awesome nurses taking a little break.  I had a very busy morning here at our hospice and I was tired!  The nurses were chatting all together about patient escapes!

One of the stories that Karen, today's Charge Nurse told was one day they noticed an unusual man just kind of wondering around the first floor.  When they asked if they could help him, he asked where the kitchen was located.

When they questioned him some more, they found out that he had com from a hospital across the bridge and down the street.  There are several hospital located there.  He was in street cloths so it was not very noticeable.

They found out that he had got out of his hospital bed, changed into his street cloths and walked out.  He then walked out, down the street, across the bridge that goes over a river and into our hospice!  When they said that he needs to go back to the hospital, he said, "I'm not going over that bridge again!"

They can laugh about it now, but it wasn't too funny then.  They called around and found out which hospital he was in and informed them that he was here.  They promptly sent over an ambulance to bring him back!

Have you ever heard of a hospital patient escaping?  Can you tell me about it in the comments section?
