Escape Down The Road

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

I was taking a little break to rest my feet and knee's at the first floor nurses station.  They ran me ragged this morning and I was pooped!  There was three other nurses there, including Karen, the Charge Nurse.  They then started to tell stories about patient escapes!

Karen told one story about a patient that had just come in and was getting situated.  He made the decision that he didn't want to be there!  While the nurses were not looking, he slipped on his street cloths!

He eased out of his room and down the hall.  With his street cloths on, you really cannot tell him from the other family members.  So he was able to get past security with ease in his street cloths.  Out the front doors he went and down the road.

He walked down the road, where he was going, they didn't say, but down the road he went!  When the nurses discovered that he was gone, they panicked and ran around looking for him!  When they searched the property and did not find him, the Charge nurse got in her car and went down the road looking for him.

She found him way down the road and managed to talk him into her car and she brought him back to our hospice and back in his room and in bed!   We were sitting around laughing at it now, but I knew that at the time they were not laughing then!

Do you know of anyone who had escaped from a medical institution?  Can you tell me about it in the comments section?
