I Could Not Get Out Of Bed!

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

I was in a room with an carrier army man, he entered the army in nineteen-seventy-five and served thirty-two years and retired as an Lt. Colonel!  You can read more about him in the post called, "The Army Man."

He was a sixty-year-old African-American and had been retired for about six years when he woke up one morning and could not get out of bed!  This was surprising from a very physically fit middle-aged man!

He couldn't get out of bed and he called for an ambulance!  He was taken to the hospital and was diagnosed with a liver disease.  That meant he needed to be on dialysis for the rest of his life!  He was transferred to a Veterans hospital and they put him on a care plan and put him on disability.

He is now in our hospice because he has grown weary of being stuck all of the time by so many needles all of the time.  He was calling it quits and will allow his liver to fail and then let his body fail and die.

I thought at that moment that he was the bravest man on the planet!  He was certainly much braver than I could ever be.  He was very unemotional about it all and I thought that it was an aid to his condition, maybe it was a deep sadness.  Some things are better left untouched!

Do you know of some one who had a sudden illness?  Can you tell me about it in the comments section?
