The Car Fire
Hello everyone. Praise the Lord!
I was in a room on a beautiful Saturday morning at our hospice. I was visiting with a middle-aged man who is a retired Austin firefighter. His mother was the patient laying in bed and resting peacefully.
We were chatting for several hours, and I had asked him what was his most interesting fire that he had to put out! He thought for a few minutes and told me this story.
He said that a car fire in the middle of an intersection was very interesting. There was a major accident at an intersection in Austin, Texas. The accident caused a fire. The Austin fire department showed up and put the fire out.
In a few minutes while they were standing around, the fire flared up again! They put the fire back out again! Again, they were all standing there and it flared up again! They were all amazed and dumbfounded about what was going on. They then sprayed foam all over the car and stopped it from burning.
They finally found out the reason! One of the fire fighters smelled a whiff of gas! They could smell the gas but had no idea where it was coming from. So they called out the gas company.
The gas company came out and discovered that there was a gas leak in an underground pipeline that went underneath the road intersection! The leaking gas under the roadway was reigniting the car fire!
The gas company shut off the gas and repaired the leak. That was a very unique fire!
