The President Is Calling!

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

I was hanging out with the nurses on the second floor in between patient visits.  We were talking about some of the famous or notable people that have been in, or around our hospice.  Now, being famous is just a matter of others opinion.

We sat around and mentioned several people whom we had admired.  You can read about several in the post called, "Famous People In Our Hospice."

One our nurses recalled sitting one quiet evening at the nurses station doing regular choirs on the computer.  She received a call on the telephone.  A common accordance in the nurses station at our hospice.  But this evening, this call, turned out to be a little interesting.

The lady on the other end of the phone was the secretary of ex-President George Herbert Walker Bush!  The forty-first President of the United States!  No matter what your political views, he is a famous person.

The President wanted to speak to a patient down the hallway.  The older lady, whom was our patient, was a friend of the President and his family.  The call was dispatched to the room, and they had a nice long talk.

Several days later, the hospice managed to arrange a private visit with the patient.  Normally Mr. Bush is very friendly and outgoing, but this occasion was different.  This needed to be a private meeting with a fiend in her last days.  I was glad that we could help!

Have you every meet a famous person?  Can you tell me about it in the comments section?
