Famous People At Our Hospice

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

I was hanging out at the second floor nurses station, and we were talking about different things.  One of the subjects that had come up was the famous people that re could remember coming through our hospice.

This subject had come up due to one of our older nurses remembering a beautiful and loving memory that I shared in the post called, "The Single Mothers."  That story started us to remember other famous people.  People that maybe only famous to us anyway.

The Single Mother's post was about an old compassionate boss who paid the tuition for a struggling single mother nurse employee.  That nurse, now one of our hospice Registered Nurses, Took care of her in her last days.

I remembered visiting the founder of the Houston Livestock and Rodeo, and his son who was there at the time.  My visit was very short with him.  The son was not in the mood for a long visit.  But that is okay because the morning process is tough!

I also meet the President of Baylor College of Medicine in the Texas Medical Center here in Houston, Texas.  It is a huge teaching hospital for Baylor University, for doctors and nurses and all other specialties.  He was overcome with grief, sitting on a bench in the hospice.  I put my arm around him and we had a very nice chat, which seemed to help him a lot.  You can read more about this story in the post, "High Profile Mercy."

One our our nurses remembered receiving a call from the office of the President of the United States!  She was sitting at the nurses station and picked up a call from the Ex-President George Bush, the older Bush.  It turned out that one of the patients down the hallway was a good friend of President Bush!

We have also had several Mayor's of Houston as patients.  I had just meet the brother of one.  You can read about it in the post called, "Mayor for a day."

Have you ever meet a famous person?  Can you tell me about it in the comments section?
