Oil And English Football
Hello everyone. Praise the Lord!
My new volunteer, Alex, and I were in a patients room visiting. This older English man was in bed and watching TV. He had a cola can on his table and could slowly drink from it. He was born and raised in Newcastle, England!
We talked about his carrier in the oil business. He lived all over the world installing and repairing compressors. If you know anything about the oil business, then you know that the oil fields are full of compressors and other type of machinery.
He lived in Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, all over the United States and other far distant lands! He retired in Humble, Texas. That is where Texaco oil company had their headquarters. I didn't ask him who he had worked for, but that would be a good guess.
We also talked about his wife who had passed on about ten years ago. I let him know that he had a very blessed life! He agreed with me! He had a very good and blessed life and he was grateful for it!
Then one of his daughters came in with her husband. Geoffrey had two daughters. The husband was a police officer. They were both very nice people. The daughter knew her father loved English football and she changed the TV channels until she found an English Premier League game.
The daughter started to unpack food and stuff, so I told Alex that it was time to go. This patient was now in good hands and watching an English football game. It was a good visit!
