Your Mother Is Calling

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

Here is a poem that I had written a few years ago on a quiet evening at the hospice sitting with a patient.

YOUR MOTHER IS CALLING

I was sitting with a patient
who was in hospice all alone
when the nurse came in
and told him someone was on the phone.

Frank was in bed dying
of a condition I did not know
his family was not there
but called on the phone.

Frank, this is your mother
I'm calling you tonight
I wish I could be there
to be in your sight.

I cannot come to see you
I do not have the money
but I will see you in heaven
and hold you my sweet honey.

Frank, this is your sister
I'm calling you tonight
I wish I could be there
to be in your sight.

Frank was in bed dying
of a condition I did not know
his family was not there
but called on the phone.

I cannot come to see you
I do not have the money
but I will see you in heaven
and hold you my sweet honey.

Have you witnessed a sad phone call?  Can you tell me about it in the comments section?
