You Have To Make A Way
Hello everyone. Praise the Lord!
I was at our hospice on a Saturday morning. I was talking to the husband of the patient lying in bed, resting peacefully. The patient's twin sister (not identical) has been coming in and out of the room.
The husband and I were swapping injury stories. I have bad knees and elbows, and he had his shoulder muscles ripped right off of the bone! He shared with me about the terrible year of therapy after they had to screw his muscles back into his bones.
He shared with me a funny story about that horrible year. With his shoulders operated on he had some crazy situations in order to just to live. Some of the most simplistic of things he had trouble doing!
One of the simple things that he had trouble with is to zip up and button his pants. He said that the only way he could zip up and button his pants was to lean against the wall, put his right elbow against another wall, then hold his pants with one hand and the other one slowly zip and button!
He had to learn how to do a lot of things in a different way. Things that he did his whole life were now a big challenge for him. He adapted and learned so new and different skill set. He was laughing about it today, but I don't think he was laughing then!
