A Risky Motorcycle Ride

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

I was at our hospice on a blazing hot late Saturday morning.  I was on the second floor talking with the husband of a patient.  His wife was lying in bed dying of tongue and throat cancer.  It was the second time that she had it.

But he was sharing with me the time that he had ripped off his shoulder muscles from his bones while weightlifting at home.  Even though he lifted everyday, he was still a fat two-hundred-eighty pounds!

It was a serous injury that took a full year to heal from.  He said that that year of rehab was just miserable!  But he was just dying to get back on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle again!

He and his wife loved to ride four-wheeler and motorcycles.  But with his shoulder injury and surgery to screw his muscles back to the bones that they were ripped off from, he could not ride it.

One day he decided to ride his motorcycle when his wife was away from home!  He got on his bike, and put one hand on his arm to lift it up to the handlebar.  He was too weak to lift it up by itself.  Then he used his knee to lift up the other hand to the other side of the handlebar!

He started off down the road!  Rolling Harley-Davidson thunder!  When he got down the road a ways, it dawned on him that if his hands were to fall off the handlebars in mid-ride, he would not be able to raise them back!

He now had seen the danger that he had put himself into!  He turned it around and rode back to the house without falling off!  He told me at that moment he was glad his wife was not at home or he would have gotten a tongue-lashing!

Do you know of someone who has a Harley-Davidson motorcycle?  Can you tell us about it in the comments section?
