The Simplicity Of The Gospel

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

I was talking to our new hospice trainee in the downstairs break room.  His name is Jimmie.  He is a large bald African-American with a skinny beard.  You can read more about him in the post, "The Army Counselor."

He is studying counseling and in a masters program.   He was very talkative and it seemed that he had a lot to say about everything.  I asked him if he was going to be a Christian counselor or a secular counselor.  An honest question, but a question that troubled him.

In a very long drawn out answer he said that Biblical counseling did not work, and he would be doing secular counseling.  I replied that God created us and made our psyche and maybe His Word should be consulted in dealing with troubled people.

"...that we behave in the world with simplicity, not by earthly wisdom but by the grace of God..."  2 Corinthians 1:12.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is very simple.  People try to complicate it.  Jimmie was talking about different versions and it can be interpreted in different ways. A sincere heart can only interpret it Gods way.  He may end up making a lot of money, but I don't think that he will help too many people.  God's way is always the best way!

Do you understand the difference about God's way and man's way?  Can you tell me about it in the comments section?
