I Won't Let You Die Alone!
Hello everyone. Praise the Lord!
I was with middle aged lady named Charliezetta, a retired army African-American medic. She is retired and living in San Antonio, TX. But she drove two-hundred miles in order to take care and be with her uncle. She has a very loving and caring heart!
She was telling me that her uncle was the youngest of twelve children! They have a large family, but no one wanted to visit with this middle aged man in his last days.
This man was very smart but he made bad decisions early in his life. He started doing drugs and became an addict, which led to several stays in prison. The last part of his life was in the Star of Hope men's homeless shelter.
He was in hospice care now and will not live long. He is unconscious most of the time due to medications for pain from the cancer of the liver, sclerosis of the liver and hepatitis C. But at least he is comfortable.
One of his last words were to Charliezetta. He told her that he didn't want to die alone. Charliezetta gently held his hand and told him that he will not die alone, and that she would stay with him! I won't let you die alone, she assured him! When I left them that afternoon, she was with him.
Do you know of someone who was afraid to die alone? Can you tell me about it in the comments section?
