Fly Fishing With Her Dad

Hello Everyone.  Praise the Lord!

I was visiting a patients room with a middle aged man with Hephaestus C and liver cancer.  His niece was the family member with him in his last days.  She is a retired medic in the Army and her name is Charliezetta.  We talked for about three hours.

While we were talking, she mentioned that she liked to fish.  She got her love of fishing from her father.  When she was stationed in Panama she went fishing all of the time.  She said that the fishing was fantastic there!  The least amount of fish that they caught in a day was forty-five,  That was the least!  The fish in Panama are everywhere she said!

Her Army time in Panama was ending and she got orders to Texas.  She was overjoyed with the orders because her father lived in Texas and she could see him and go fishing with him!  His birthday would be at about the same time so she bought him a new tackle box for his birthday present.  She was going to have a great time with her dad!

But tragically, he died suddenly just before she arrived! She was so brokenhearted!  Instead of going home into the arms of her father, she had to go to his funeral instead.  She said that those were days of empty dreams!

She said that now she has an interest in fly fishing.  She said that she wanted to try it.  She still has the tackle box intended for her father.  She told me that when she would go fly fishing, she would use her fathers tackle box.  Her father will be with her in the river. His tackle box on one side of her and her father would be on the other side.  Even though her father had passed, she knew he would be there fishing with her also!

Have you ever fished with your father or another family member?   Can you tell me about it in the comments section?
