Manipulation
Hello everyone. Praise the Lord!
I had just arrived at the hospice on a cool but rapidly warming morning. Mohammed was not at the front desk, so I went to the volunteer office, got my badge and headed to the downstairs break room. checked the coffee pot and cleaned up a bit, and returned to see Mohammed.
We started to talk about world politics, since he is from Somalia. The subject of manipulation came up. He was disturbed how people try to use manipulation to get what they wanted. He asked me if it can be used for the good of people.
I told him that it sure could be used for good. The tool of manipulation is just that, it is a tool. It can be used for the good or the bad. It all depends on the one using it and for what reason. It all depends on why and the ends of it use.
I told him that a rifle can be used for good in hunting to supply meat for the table or it could be used for bad in killing other people. The rifle itself is not bad, just who is using it and why.
It's the same way for religions. We can use religion to manipulate people for the good to lived peaceful, compassionate lives, or use it to kill other people, as some do. Let us all use it as a tool for the good of humanity!
