You Are So Sweet!
Hello everyone. Praise the Lord!
I was in a room of a very friendly lady named Mary. She loves to visit, and so, loves our volunteers! I have literally spent hours visiting with her. She is a joy to talk with! She has been with us for at least a month, but had a terrible two weeks. You can read more about Mary in the posts called, "I had to get away," "Rochester gauges," "Body dancing," "Seventeen stents."
She was in here because she had a bad heart and had just recently had a stroke. She was terrible upset because she has had some chest pain. Also, one of out temporary nurses made the comment that she needed to leave! The nurse was corrected immediately and the situation was corrected, but Mary's feelings was still hurt!
I gently held her hand as she softly cried in telling me about it. She was also upset that her hair was not made up. She has always been a lady who had her hair done and her fingernails nice. She always had pride in her looks. Not having her hair done was upsetting her.
She was also upset that she had deep lines caused by her oxygen hoses. She said that there were guards on her oxygen hoses, but she didn't know where they were. I walked around her bed and looked on her table behind her. There they were! Two hose guards on the table!
I grabbed them and put them on her oxygen lines. She was so happy that I found them. It meant so much to her! She said, "You are so sweet!" This one little act of kindness had made her so happy! After her bad two weeks, it was a joy to do something to make her happy!
Have you done anything lately to make someone happy? Can you tell me about it in the comments section?
