Making The Hard Decisions
Hello everyone. Praise the Lord!
I was talking with a middle aged lady with a beautiful smile. She and I were sitting in the downstairs break room. We talked for about two hours. She needed that much time to unburden herself of all of the emotions of her mother dying and her families troubles.
I am a hospice volunteer but sometimes I need to double as a counselor. Her brother and her sister were doubting her decisions in her role as a Medical Power of Attorney over her mother.
Her mother had been sick for a long time and had expressed her desire to die. She was just tired of being sick and now her condition was terminal. So Sally had given her wish to die and to stop fighting. Her siblings thought that it was the wrong decision.
But her siblings lived out of town and were not her caretaker. They just didn't know the situation. Being a caretaker for your loved one sometimes means making some very hard decisions! These decisions are made with the knowledge of other family members but maybe not with their understanding!
She was under a lot of stress because of all of these issues and so we held hands and prayed. I prayed for her and she then prayed for me. She felt so much better afterwards!
Have you ever had to make hard decisions? Can you tell me about it in the comments section?
