The Little Country House
Hello everyone. Praise the Lord!
I was at our hospice on a cool and cloudy Saturday morning visiting with a middle-aged Hispanic patient. This lady was only fifty-two-years-old and was dying of brain cancer. She had several tumors in her brain and several lumps could be seen on her head!
She is very talkative and was very happy to have a visit with me. I sat down with her for a couple of hours chit-chatting about her life. Some of the things she talked about was her father whom she loved greatly.
The patient, named Irma, always wanted to have a little house in the countryside. So she found a small house with several acres with neighbors about. She got her little country house that she always wanted.
She also thought it would be a nice place for her father to come visit. Her father grew up on a farm and missed being in the country himself. So when she bought the small country house, she brought her father in for a visit.
He absolutely loved the place and would come all the time. Irma gave him the key, and he would come for a month at a time. Not only because he loved being out the country, but he also found a girlfriend up there. This was a small country town in East Texas.
Her, and her father would go there together, or sometimes he would go by himself. Her father would take his little dog for walks and visit with all the neighbors. All of the neighbors loved him and his dog, and would come out to greet him when he walked by.
In fact her father had a five-mile circuit he would walk with his dog. He would spend all day just walking with his dog, and talking with the neighbors when the weather was nice. Now that Erma is passing away in the near future, she is giving the house to her father! She knows that her father would take good care of her little country house!
Do you have or do you know somebody who has a little country house? Can you tell me about it in the comment section?
