Nurses Helping Each Other Out

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

I was at the nurses station with another long time volunteer, Anita.  The RN told us how another long term nurse's aid, Kathy, who was a ninety-six year old Hispanic lady.  Kathy had just recently had a bad case of pneumonia, which at that age can kill you.

Now Kathy was an old Hispanic crusty old lady that had a bad attitude.  She was a lot better once you got to know her, but the problem was it took awhile to get to know her.  Kathy is also a hermit.  She is ninety-six years old and still working is that the Hospice nurses are her only friends.  They are her only family!

So Kathy had pneumonia and drove herself to the doctor.  They called an ambulance to take her to the hospital.  She is still in Bayshore hospital.  She might be in there awhile.

Even though Kathy was a hermit and would never allow anyone near her home, much less let anyone in her home.  But she let her nurse friend and RN supervisor pick up her car at the doctors office and to take it home.  So she gave her the keys to her car and her home.

This was a big event with Kathy and probably a good one.  It was so nice to hear a nurses taking care of another nurses.  We human beings are at our best when we take care of each other and do things for each other.

Have you helped someone else lately?  Can you tell me about it in the comments section?
