Sharps Box
Hello everyone. Praise the Lord!
Victor, the social worker therapist from Brownsville, TX, told me about his wife's idea.
While they were stationed in the Air Force at Nellis Air Force Base, he noticed that needles were thrown away in the trash after use. He then noticed that the garbage man would grab the bag while throwing it away. Victor thought that it was unsafe!
He said something to his wife, who was an LVN nurse. She had the idea of a special disposal box for sharp medical trash like needles.
Victor went back to the Base and wrote up a recommendation form. Weeks passed and Victor's boss called him in and said that the Wing Commander wanted to see them both! Victor thought that he was in trouble!
They went to the Wing Commanders office and others were there as well. They were all recognized by the Wing Commander for their ideas and using the Air Force recommendation forms.
He was paid eight dollars! Now those Sharps boxes are in every hospital in the world!
