A little poem

For The Sake Of The Rose

For the sake of the rainbow, in the rain we must mourn

For the sake of the rose, we must water the thorns.

If life's trouble was an inch

we would have a mile

but all of it is worthwhile

but for only a smile.

If life's heartache was an inch

we would have a mile

you would still make my life beautiful

like a lily of the Nile.

If life's strife was an inch

we would have a mile

you would make my life more pleasant

like a green valley on an emerald isle.

For the sake of the rainbow, in the rain we must mourn
