She Knew I Needed Bread

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

I was with my wife visiting our old home in Morgan City, Louisiana. While we're there we visit many of our friends and family. One of  the friends we visited lived just north of town. Elaine lives in a town called Patterson, Louisiana.

Elaine is a short plump African-American lady. She works in human resources, and her husband is a barber. Her husband wasn't there, he was at work doing his thing. Both of them are very nice folks.

We sat down and talked in her spacious, and comfortable living room. They have a large house and are very well off financially. They have friends in Round Rock, Texas, that they just recently visited.

While she was in Round Rock, Texas, hurricane Ida was hitting the South Louisiana area, and causing widespread devastation. Elaine and her husband were safe hundreds of miles away. After the hurricane passed through, they decided to come back home.

That's when she stopped at a local restaurant to get lunch for her or her husband. They were getting it to go, so they can eat along the way. When they were ordering the food, the waitress noticed an accent, and asked where they were from.

After she took their order, the waitress asked if she wanted any bread. She didn't really think about it, and just replied, "yes, I would like some bread." thinking that she would get a few slices of bread with her meal.

When Elaine was walking towards the car with her husband, she noticed the two bags of food she was rather heavy. When she got in the car, she looked in the bags, and found not just a few slices of bread, but two entire loaves of bread!

She didn't think too much of her at the time just I was a nice gesture. When they got back home and checked on their house, they went to the grocery store. When they walked through the grocery store, she knows there was absolutely no bread on the shelves!

Elaine thought back of the previous day, when the waitress asked that she wanted some bread. The waitress knew that where she was going she would find no bread available. And that's why they were given the two loaves of bread!

The waitress must have saw on the news that all of the bread had been bought out and thought ahead so she could bless Elaine and her husband. The world is full of wonderful people!
