You Have Such A Heavy Burden!
Hello everyone. Praise the Lord!
I walked into one of the back rooms where I had visited with a patient a week ago. The patient was sleeping due to her pain medication. She is passing away of brain cancer and was experiencing a lot of pain, and so they're trying to make her comfortable.
But she wasn't alone, her daughter was sitting there on the couch. She was a young Hispanic lady of about thirty-years-of-age. She is short and plump and a very nice lady. So I sit down I started visiting with her. She mentioned that her mother mentioned me and said that we had a great visit with her. So because of that, she and her daughter was happy I was there!
Her daughter then shared with me of her working two jobs to help pay the bills for the family. Her grandfather was in a nursing home for Alzheimer's patients. Nursing homes are very, very expensive! Her mother's condition having breast cancer, than now brain cancer several years later. She is now having to pay for years to support her mother.
I told her working two jobs to support her grandfather and mother was a very, very wonderful thing to do. I reassured her that she was a wonderful daughter! And her grandfather and mother were very blessed to have her as a daughter!
I told her that she had been carrying a very heavy burden for a long time! I asked if she was receiving counseling, she said that she had a counselor but only went one time. I told her that at our hospice we have a wonderful counseling program. I went on the website and set her up to get information about counseling session and programs.
For a young lady to be carrying around such a big burden is very difficult. And these type of situations it's good to have someone to talk to. She did share with me that her husband was very good with talking to her and support. Whether it's a husband, a spiritual counselor, or a regular counselor a pair of ears can be a relief! I think she will be in good hands now!
Do you know of someone who has been carrying around a heavy burden? Can you tell me about it in the comment section?
